Jonathan Roberts
Jonathan Roberts is the founder and director of the South Shore Piano School. He holds the Doctor of Musical Arts degree in piano performance from the University of Alabama, the Master of Music degree in Piano Performance from the Cleveland Institute of Music, and two bachelor's degrees from the University of New Hampshire; the Bachelor of Arts degree in Piano Performance and the Bachelor of Music in Music Education.
Prior to South Shore Piano School, Jonathan was on the faculty of South Shore Conservatory from 2013-2018, serving as the piano department chair from 2016-2018.
A passionate performer and educator, Jonathan strives to bring a skills-building approach to every lesson based on students' individual needs. Jonathan loves weaving creativity through improvisation, playing by ear, and popular music. Students gain the skills they need to become lifelong musicians, as well as creative and expressive people.
Jonathan is an active board member of the Massachusetts Music Teachers Association, serving as the chair of the state competition. In addition, Jonathan serves as an examiner for the Royal Conservatory of Music Certificate Program.
