We've been talking with a lot of students, parents, and teachers lately about what got them into music, both in casual conversation and on our podcast.
All of their stories had a common thread.
The journey began with exposure to music.
It may have been a teacher in music class. It may have been having music on the radio in the car regularly. It may have just been singing and playing around the house.
Whatever form it takes, we're finding that exposure is key. It's no surprise to us. But, it's sure nice to hear it again and again.
And so, for the greater good of society, I have a challenge for you, dear reader.
Expose someone to music. Bonus points if it's a child.
Or, try exposing someone to a new kind of music. Something they've never heard before that's worth listening to.
We never know what the hook might be.
The hook that leads someone to a lifetime of joy in music.
