I was once in a large meeting with around 100 people in attendance.
One of the administrators running the meeting had just finished delivering a well-rehearsed speech. When she was finished, she began to step down from the stage. It was a small step. Nothing to be worried about.
She immediately tripped and fell flat on her face. The crowd gasped.
Then, the most wondrous thing happened.
Like a ballerina, she floated up back to her feet and continued walking as though nothing happened.
The crowd's gasp turned to laughter.
Something we can all learn from. When we stumble, when we have a slip, when we perform badly, let's not freeze up. Let's just make it part of the show.
It may be intriguing. It may be funny. It may make the performance worse than it already was.
But, at least it will be interesting.
