A barrier to getting started in piano is fear of wasting money.

We don't want to invest a lot of money. In case she doesn't end up taking to it.

When it comes to piano or any endeavor, you owe it to yourself to invest in the best equipment can afford. If it doesn't work out, you can always sell it and get most of the money back.

After all...that's why they invented eBay.
