We work on a project and it fails. Or, we stop practicing for a week or two.
We feel bad.
But then, we feel badly about feeling bad.
And then, we feel badly about being the type of person who feels bad for feeling bad.
And the cycle continues. It's a feedback loop from hell.
Humans are unique, not only in having conscious thought. But also having thoughts about those thoughts as well. And that ability can often send us on a spiral to nowhere.
When you feel bad, embrace the feeling of bad. Embracing negative feelings ends up being a positive experience.
In fact, accepting negative emotions is another modern day superpower. Most prefer to deny they exist, which sends them further down the spiral.
Accepting failure gets you off the feedback loop. You can grieve it and move on.
And then, you can go on to your next project, ever stronger.
