They’re Always Watching

Kids are always watching us. There's no getting around it.

And what they don't realize is, they're absorbing our behavior in ways they won't even think about until they're adults.

If we're always on our phones, they'll grow up to be distracted.

If we're stress about not having enough time, they'll believe there's never enough time. To practice, work on health, or the other important things.

Whatever we prioritize, they'll prioritize.

Whatever we put last, they'll put last.

It's hard being a parent. It's a 24/7 job. You don't get sick days. You don't get vacations very often.

But the best thing every parent can do is ask which examples they're setting.

And which ones they want to change.

Never miss a blog post!

For parents, students, and anyone else who believes that music can and should be a meaningful part of everyone's life.

When 2 + 2 = 10

When it comes to practicing, most people don’t get how time works. People think the amount of practice time is most important. Rather than the frequency. Logic tells us this: Practicing 5 minutes for six days would be the same as practicing 30 minutes for one day. It adds up to the same total minutes, so the benefits are the same.
