Slowing Down Just a Little

Something interesting happened this week with several students. I asked them to slow their music down.

Not by much. Just a tiny bit. Almost imperceptible.

I asked them to take their time. Not feel like they're in such a rush. Enjoy the fullness of each beat so there is enough time to look ahead at what's coming next.

And just about every time, it was better. More accurate. More musical. More alive.

Take a few minutes to slow down on something today. Just a tiny bit. Let us know what happens. I'm pretty sure it's not just a music thing.
