As a parent, you're probably tired of signing your kids up for the same old summer camps every year. A week of soccer, math, or Minecraft, and the party's over. At South Shore Piano Camp 2024, your kids will gain experiences that last the entire year.

Finding Enriching Summers Camps for your Kids is Hard

Summer is a great opportunity for children to learn new things without the busy schedule and pressures of the school year. But there are so many options.

As a parent, it can be a challenge to find summer camps where your kids will have fun, but also learn valuable skills that will last.

A Week of Creativity and Discovery Await

discover what awaits

South Shore Piano Camp is an opportunity for children to discover new possibilities at the piano, boost their existing skills, and everything in between.

Discover the possibilities

With classes in piano technology, improvisation, composition, and more, your kids will learn to express themselves in new, exciting ways.

Boost your skills

Classes in music theory, rhythm, and movement will take your kids' playing to the next level. No matter where they're starting from.

make new friends

Most piano time is spent alone practicing. Our piano camp will give your kids the chance to make new friends and connections with music.

Something for all levels

South Shore Piano Camp was created with flexibility in mind. Whether your kids have several years experience or never had a lesson, we have something for everyone.

share your music

With our daily, low-key recitals, students have the opportunity to discover the joy of sharing music with friends. Even if it's something they learned that day.

Make It your own

With our class options, you can choose to push your skills, discover creative possibilities, or a combination of the two. We're not a one-size-fits-all kind of camp.

What others have to say about south shore piano camp

Ever since South Shore Piano School’s first piano camp my son has been eagerly looking forward to next year's edition. The camp beautifully straddles between rigorous piano and music making as well as playfulness and fun, all in a respectful and encouraging environment. I am always impressed by how the camp continues to be a source of inspiration for many weeks and months.

- kristian kloeckl, parent

Piano camp is a fun, exciting place because all of the classes are really unique and fun. All the classes really teach you about new things.

- nathan hu, student

My two children attended piano camp a number of summers together.  Piano camp was a tremendous opportunity for both kids to enjoy their solo instrument with other players both younger and older.  They had numerous group play opportunities and introductions to new musical styles, teaching styles and music technology of which my son was a big fan.  I couldn't recommend piano camp more to get kids excited about their instrument and playing music generally!

Discover the joy of spontaneous music-making at the piano that we were all born with. Even if you've never improvised before.

Music Mind Games

Learn musical concepts by doing what kids love most - playing games with other kids! For all ages and levels.

Composing

Compose your own piece of music over the course of the week, and leave with a printed version of it you can keep.

Rhythm

Through movement activities and games, you'll learn to feel rhythm better, and understand how it works in your written music.

Music Theory

Music theory is to music as grammar is to language. Music theory class will help you understand music on a whole new level.

Lead Sheet Reading

Learning to read a chord chart can be so much fun. In this class, you'll gain the basic skills to figure out chords and play from a lead sheet.

Piano Ensemble

Frequently asked questions

My child has never played piano before. Will this still be fun?

Yes! Piano camp will have a "track" for complete beginners. Classes will be customized to the abilities and interest of the students.

This seems expensive compared to my kids' other camps. What gives?

With the nature of the piano, we keep class sizes small. Around 6 students per teacher. But we still need to pay our teachers well. If we could send 40 kids into a soccer field with one teacher, it would be a different story.

Is this an intensive camp with a lot of practicing?

No. Definitely not. South Shore Piano Camp is meant to foster community, creativity, and fun with our students. Camp students will boost their skills, for sure. But our camp is not about having designated practice time, supervised practice time, intense recitals, that kind of thing. There are other schools and conservatories for students who are looking for a "piano intensive."

What is your refund policy?

Tuition for our piano camp is non-refundable. We contract our camp teachers in advance for the week based on enrollment. We rely on this tuition to be able to pay them.

Give your kids a week of summer music making they'll remember for life.

You blink, and your kids are grown up. South Shore Piano Camp is all about giving them that enriching week of summer they'll talk about for years to come.
