The Time Tracking Hack

The most popular excuse for not practicing is:

I didn't have time to practice.

Whether you're a parent or a student, I think we all know deep down that it's a BS excuse. But, it's much easier to say I didn't have time than it is to say I didn't make the time

Or probably more honestly, I felt so overwhelmed, the last thing I wanted to do each day was practice.

I didn't have time casts the blame off of ourselves. It was out of our control. Inflicted upon us by the demands of the world.

But, there's always time. Even if it's just a few minutes.

If you need to prove it to yourself or your kids, you can use this time-tracking hack.

From the moment you or your kids wake up, track everything you do with a time tracker. You can use an app like Clockify to do the job.

So, the morning would look something like:

*Start Timer* Take a shower. *Stop Timer*

*Start Timer* Eat breakfast. *Stop Timer*

*Start Timer* Get dressed. *Stop Timer*

You get the idea...

Do this for a day, and it's guaranteed you'll find pockets of time you or your kids can practice. Or, you'll realize you're taking way too long to do something that can be done in less time.

Or, if you get to the end of the day and find that you actually didn't have a spare minute to fit practice in, then you'll learn the most valuable lesson of all.

It's time to cut something.
