Play is one of the most underrated tools in the history of mankind.
When parents pay for their kids to attend a rigorous school, "play" is not a word that enters the picture.
In fact, there have been plenty of parents over the years who pulled their kids from lessons because it looked like they were having too much fun. And they're not paying for fun. They're paying for hard work and results.
Play and learning are not connected. When in fact, play is the most powerful learning tool of all.
Consider this. if you release children into the woods for an hour or two to do as they please, they will create their own games. Dozens of games, in fact.
Games with clever rules, strategy, and teamwork. Games you never dreamed of.
Now, fast forward to adulthood. Does it sound more fun to be the game creator? Or the one who has to follow the rules set by everyone else?
It all starts with play, and the glorious freedom that comes with it.
I TOTALLY agree!!! Now that I’m older, I feel the freedom “to play more” & not care what other people think!! & I consider my piano lessons my play time!! Jonathan makes it really fun and that enthusiasm from him carries me thru the week w my practicing so it’s as fun as my lesson!!
