The Joy of Missing Out

With social media and the smartphone revolution came the phenomenon known as FOMO. Fear of Missing Out.

It's why we can't stop checking our phones all the time. Social media. Texts. The news. There's a lot to keep up with, and a lot to miss out on.

We never know when we might miss that one piece of information that could change our lives forever.

Except, it never works like that. We just think it does.

But, put the phone away for 30 minutes, and you get to experience JOMO. The Joy of Missing Out.

Take a walk and observe nature. Observe the silence. Appreciate the sound of the wind. Let creative ideas find their way into your head.

And just for a little while, you get to miss out on the horrors of the news, the latest food pictures on Facebook, and the inappropriate number of texts coming from your boss.

Airplane mode can be true bliss.

And don't worry. There will be plenty to read when you get back.
