Slow But Efficient

I suck at cooking.

I think in time, I can learn. But, it will redefine the meaning of "beginner" for the pour soul that writes the "Cooking for Beginners" book I need.

That being said, I enjoy watching cooking gameshows. In particular, MasterChef.

The show where contestants have to cook dishes with random ingredients within extreme time limits.

There's one contestant from season 5 who will always be my hero. His name was Willie. Actually, he went by Big Willie.

He was a big dude. I mean...really big. He didn't win, but made it pretty far.

There was one quality of his that I admired most.

A quote from another contestant put it perfectly.

"Anyone else notice how Big Willie moves slower than everyone else but seems to finish twice as fast?"

And it's true.

While the other contestants would be panicked, running back and forth at their stations, Big Willie would be like a slow-moving, yet happy, Eeyore.

When you slow down and plan, you can get most things done way faster.

So when in doubt, just be like Big Willie.
