At South Shore Piano School, we are unable to reschedule or cancel missed lessons for any reason.
However, we do understand that things come up that may cause you to miss an occasional lesson.
This is why we have four options you can choose from if you need to miss a lesson.
1. If you are available but can't be at our teaching space for your lesson, we can offer an online lesson via Zoom.
Please notify your teacher as early as possible so they can provide you with the link.
2. If you know in advance that you have to miss your lesson, you can record your lesson materials in advance and send them to your teacher.
Your teacher will then use your lesson time to review the recordings and put together feedback in return.
This is essentially an "asynchronous lesson" option.
3. You can attend our 60-minute group makeup class at the end of the month.
We host this the last Sunday of each month at 11am for adult students and 12pm for kids.
4. You can gift the lesson to a friend or family member.
If you need to miss a lesson, simply let your teacher know which option you would like to proceed with.
Why Can't We Just Reschedule or Cancel?
This question comes up a lot, and we know that more and more music schools are offering "flexible lesson policies."
That's why we put together a video illustrating why traditional makeup lessons do not work, both for our teachers and our students.
