The Amazing Things That Happen When You Show Up

So much of it all is just showing up. Again and again, relentlessly.

School doesn't teach us how to show up. It just punishes us if we don't.

No, no. Truly showing up comes from a different place. A desire to be better, to help others, or to change the world. It comes from choice.

Showing up to your piano lesson every week.

Showing up to training.

Showing up for your friends and family.

Showing up for yourself.

When the pandemic began, it would have been easy for people to stop showing up. And some of them did.

But, the vast majority have been nothing short of inspirational. Parents and students who did not accept stopping piano lessons as a choice.

It didn't matter what the case numbers were, how stressed they were, how much homework they had, what the outlook was, or pretty much anything else.

They showed up.

Relentlessly.

Week after week.

And they are growing in ways I never would have imagined in March of 2020.

So, turn the news off. Our future is safe.

Long as people keep showing up.
