Lima Jamir
Lima Jamir is originally from the Northeastern part of India and is currently pursuing her Doctoral of Musical Arts with a concentration in Piano Performance from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, New Orleans.
Before moving to the United States, she served at Patkai Christian College, India, as a piano instructor. After moving to New Orleans to pursue her career in music, she worked as an accompanist for the school choir at Holmer Plessy Community School and NOBTS male chorus.
Before moving to Massachusetts, she worked as a piano instructor at Lafargue Music School where she taught piano to students ranging between 4 to 13 years old. Her students are always actively involved in various piano competitions and auditions winning several prizes in the New Orleans area.
Lima discovered her passion in teaching piano at a young age and it has always been her forte throughout her musical journey. She hopes to instill the love of music in her students through her teaching and at the same time receive inspiration from them to find different approaches that are suitable for each student.
Lima believes that as a music teacher, it's important to observe how different students learn. This helps her find new and better ways to teach music that fit each student's unique style.
Lima joined the faculty of South Shore Piano School in 2024.
