Getting Back Up

There is a scene from Family Guy I think about often. One of the classic cutaways (which, incidentally, people either love or hate about the show).

Mike Tyson is in a boxing match with Carol Channing.

Oh, by the way, this is pretty much completely inappropriate for children. But you mature adults, this is all for you.

Tyson keeps knocking Channing down. Channing keeps getting back up. Tyson knocks her down. Channing gets up again. This repeats a few times.

Until eventually, Tyson says, "I can't believe it. She keeps getting back up. I'm so exhausted." And then he passes out. Channing wins by technical knock out.

It's much funnier to watch, so here is the video.

As is life. Whether practicing, dealing with the pandemic, dealing with your job, or facing creative challenges. We have to keep getting back up. Again, and again, and again.

When you're in doubt about your big thing that you're working on, just remember to channel your inner animated Carol Channing.

And just maybe you will win by technical knock out.
