Life these days feels like an infinity symbol. You know, the thing that looks like a sideways number eight.
And we’re speeding along that path on a horse that’s out of control.
It’s hard to do things like learn the piano when you’re on a horse that’s out of control.
Much of the time, we feel like there’s no helping it. But, this is our conditioning. It’s not how we were meant to live.
We’re in control of the horse. Heck, we are the horse.
We can slow down or get off at any time.
We can change more than we think. Our schools, activities, jobs, wakeup time, sleep time, and the list goes on.
If only it were that easy in our primitive brains.
The challenge is the emotional labor.
The emotional labor of being the odd man out while everyone else in town is continuing around the out-of-control horse track.
Fighting the survival mechanism you were born with that doesn’t want you to be the outcast.
But as a result, breaking free and living like you never lived before.
Ironic, isn’t it?
