Seeking Out What We’re Afraid Of

Our brains are funny things. Sometimes, doesn't it seem like we're afraid of everything?

We're afraid of performing in public. But we're also afraid of the repercussions of never performing in public.

We're afraid of working out or keeping up a practice routine. But then, we're also afraid of working out too much. Or not working out at all.

We're afraid of doing things differently from our peers, aka the "crowd." But then, we're also afraid of the things the crowd is doing. But not afraid enough to conquer our fear of sticking out from the tribe.

Our brain has outdated hardware.

All the more reason to seek out the things we're afraid of. To be risk takers. To seek out discomfort.

Most of the things that set off the brain's alarm bells aren't that bad when we try them in reality. Most of them won't kill you.

All the more reason to use fear as a beacon for the things that you should do.

Because, the things that make most people run and hide can be your compass.

Your compass for growth and a very exciting future.
