How often have you heard someone say, "It's on my to-do list"...
...only for them to never...do it?
Whether it's learning French, or something that requires 10 seconds, like answering yes or no to a question.
Then, one must ask, is the to-do list simply too long or complicated?
Or is the creator of the list just not that great at following through?
Or is the to-do list nonexistent? But "It's on my to-do list" sounds much better than, "This isn't important to me, so I'm not prioritizing it"?
Now, I'm poking fun at an expression people use all the time. But, it's one worth poking fun at.
Because most of us aren't intentional with our time.
And maybe throwing around meaningless expressions like "It's on my to-do list" is part of the problem. It leads people to think we're intentional when we're most likely not.
If it's on your to-do list, set a date and time, and get the thing done.
Otherwise, it's probably not important enough to you to begin with.
