There's always a reward on the other side of work.
Cleaning the basement sucks. But when you roll up your sleeves and get it done, you have a nice, clean basement at the end.
Responding to a mountain of emails? Also not particularly exciting. But when it's finished, you've freed up a ton of mental bandwidth to do other things.
Going to work can have a number of rewards. The reward of the work itself, if you love your job. And then the reward of a paycheck every couple of weeks.
Work comes with rewards. And if the rewards aren't exciting enough, try changing the work you do.
After all, life is too short to do work that doesn't feel good afterwards.
