The Thing About Tomorrow

There's always tomorrow to do a better job than you did today. We know this so well, that we wrote songs about it.

There's always tomorrow, for dreams to come true. (Rudolph special)

The sun will come out...tomorrow. (Annie)

Tomorrow can hold exciting possibilities. But thoughts of tomorrow lend themselves to procrastination.

After all, how many times have we told ourselves, "I'll have time to practice tomorrow," only to look back a year later and wonder what the heck happened.

It would make for a less-catchy song, but more accurate lyrics would be...

There's always tomorrow, for dreams to come true, so long as I do something different than today.

Or...

The sun will come out...tomorrow...make sure you write down why, or you'll forget by then.

Less sexy, for sure. But, more realistic.

And maybe even life-changing.
