Well, This Sucks

The penguins were always my favorite characters from the movie Madagascar.

They're not cute and cuddly. They're conniving and mischievous. And they act like secret agents.

Most of the movies events are caused by the penguins' desire to escape the zoo and enter the wild.

Antarctica, to be exact.

They escape from the zoo, cause all manner of mayhem, hijack a ship, and accidentally offload the rest of the crated animal characters into the ocean (where they're propelled into the remaining events of the movie.).

All to reach Antarctica.

The Antarctica scene lasts about 7 seconds.

We see a distant silhouette of the ship and our four penguins in the middle of a huge blizzard. An uncomfortable silence ensues. And then, one penguin looks at the other three and says three beautiful words.

"Well, this sucks."

As epic as the journey is, sometimes it's not what we think it will be when we arrive.

And when that happens, the best thing you can do is, say it like it is, get back in your ship, and chart a new course.
