Ever notice how the daily percentage for sugar is missing from nutrition labels? There's much debate over why that is.
Everything from "conspiracy theory" to "everyone's body is different."
But how much would change if the percentage were there? Would you still eat what's inside if the label said the serving of sugar is 2,500% what a human should consume in a day?
On a similar note, notice how everyone is much more relaxed about COVID these days?
We're not hearing about it so much in the news or on social media anymore. Especially with other things going on in the world. Even though it's just as contagious, and the younger age groups still can't be vaccinated.
From time to time, it's helpful to check yourself.
And ask, "Am I feeling X because it makes sense to me? Or am I feeling X because that's what I'm being told...or not told?"
Check yourself often enough, and you can feel like you're in charge of your life and its wondrous outcomes.
Rather than relying on the rest of the world to tell you how you should feel.

Ok Dr Roberts, let me just say this is another thought provoking well written post. However, if I may, I’d like to play devil’s advocate. Yes we shouldn’t rely on others to tell us how we feel or how to go about our each individual lives. However, in my humble unsolicited opinion, we are no more in control of our day to day than we are lead to believe. Have u heard the phrase, God laughs at us as we make our plans?
In any given day, our plans can go terribly awry and we constantly have to be thinking on our feet tweaking here and there as the new situations arise.
But the over all trajectory of our lives changes given our life’s path and circumstances. We have to be like Ginger Rodgers and Fred Astair & think on our feet and accept some things are totally out of our control. Just my 2 cents!!
Devil’s advocate perspectives are always welcome! And I’m in total agreement with you. I think where school leads us astray is making us feel like life is a series of simple problems and answers. But as you said so well, it’s about being able to think critically, change on a dime, and be creative. There are definitely things out of our control – I think it’s helpful to reframe again and again which aspects are within our control. Even if it feels like they’re not. It’s all jazz, man!! Thanks so much for the thoughtful comment!
