I was a chronic procrastinator for a long time. I mean...sometimes I'm surprised I even finished some of my degrees.
Fortunately (or maybe unfortunately), I was one of those people who could put projects off until the last minute and still do well. But it was stressful every time.
It wasn't because I didn't want to do the work.
Rather, it was because I was overwhelmed with the amount of figuring out I would have to do for each project.
Figuring out a topic for a paper.
Figuring out how to do the research for a paper.
Figuring out how to study for an exam on something I wasn't interested in.
But with the looming threat of a failing grade, I would manage to pull it together last minute.
Later on, a mindset shift would change everything. Four beautiful words.
Start before you're ready.
I wish I adopted this sooner, but better late than never.
Start before you're ready.
It's easy to put projects off until everything feels perfect. Too easy.
Waiting until all the learning is done before starting a business. Waiting until life is less busy to start piano lessons. Waiting until the kids are older to start them in lessons.
It's always better when you start first.
So long as you're not betting the farm on your decision, you can figure things out as you go. So long as you're looking at failures as an opportunity to learn, starting first is the best education you can find.
Start first, then figure it out as you go.
Just do it. You can always regret it later. But better to regret trying than to regret never getting started.

I think it’s awesome to have just tried in the first place!! And take every failure as an opportunity to learn. At least that’s the goal in my book!!
