Back to the Future II is a brilliant film (spoilers ahead).
But there's an interesting plot hole.
(Well...there are a lot of interesting plot holes, as is the case with most time travel movies...but this one is especially interesting...)
When our heroes travel to the future, the year 2015 (so much for the flying cars...), they encounter present Biff from 1985 as an old man.
Now, here's the disconnect.
Old Biff is wearing old people clothes. Like, clothes you'd expect to see in the 1950's. But, if this were Biff from 1985, wouldn't he be wearing 1980's clothes, worst-case scenario?
But...
The people watching in the movie theater were in 1985. And for them, old-people clothes are from the 1950's.
The movie traded logic for familiarity.
Or, the producers didn't think that detail through. But that makes for a much less-profound blog post.
In the end, most people will trade logic for what's familiar. And what's familiar may not be logical...it might just be what most people are doing.
And so, it helps to ask the question from time to time.
Am I doing XYZ because it makes sense for me? Or just because it's familiar and comfortable?

Hmmmmm!!!!! Interesting question!!!! And another awesome, thought provoking blog post. I have to go ponder that question…..
