That's right, ladies and gentlemen. It's time for the Christmas post.
But what to write about? The typical blog post won't do. It needs to be something extra-special for you to take time out of your Christmas to read.
So, you know what? Let's talk about you. And how grateful we are for you. Whether you're a reader, a student, a parent, or a colleague.
Christmas is a great time for reflection.
2021 has been another tough year. Not lockdown tough. But tough, nonetheless. It's easy to get wrapped up in the negativity. Especially when you watch the news.
But with these challenges, we learned that there is so much promise for the future.
We learned that parents and students really do value music education. Enough to go an entire year online without stopping. Or even starting lessons online as a beginner when in-person was preferred.
Thank you for being part of the adventure. We'll keep trying to make it interesting.
We started this blog, amped up our YouTube channel, and started a podcast with new episodes forthcoming. Thank you for reading, watching, and listening.
We learned that teachers and students are limited only by their imaginations in what they can accomplish. All it takes is a willingness to dance with fear and take some chances. Thank you for being daredevils with us.
We started South Shore Piano School in September of 2019 with a vision, a hope, and a dream.
To create a school were students didn't just take lessons, but joined a community and a family.
To create a school where students didn't just learn how to play music. But learned how to practice, how to build skills, and how to live better lives because of it.
To create a school that pays teachers what they're worth. To build a place they could be excited to call home.
Two years and four months later, we have over 200 students learning piano with us. It's hard to believe.
Thank you for being a part of the journey with us, from the bottom of our hearts. We couldn't have done it without you and the faith you put in us.
More exciting things await. But in the meantime, have a wonderful, safe, and happy Christmas.
And maybe try to practice for a few minutes, too.
