Looking Forward to the Results

We talk a lot about learning to enjoy the process around here.

Because, it's a process to practice a new piece of music. To refine it. Polish it. Memorize it. Get it ready to share with an audience.

It's not always fun. And that's okay. You don't have to enjoy every second of it. In fact, it would be a little strange if you enjoyed every second of it.

But you know what is fun? The results.

And thinking about the results can help push you through the toughest lack of motivation.

Because even if you're not enjoying practicing today, think about the result of practicing today.

Being a step closer to sounding amazing.

Being a step closer to finishing this piece of music you thought might be too difficult in the beginning.

A step closer to being a confident performer.

Those are the exciting thoughts that can motivate you to do the work today. With piano, or with anything.

Whether it's practicing piano, starting a business, cleaning your living room, or doing the dishes.

There's always a result to look forward to after the work is done.
