There are too many things to do in the course of a day. Whether you're a working adult, or a middle school student. So we take it out of our sleep time.
But here's what happens.
Because we don't get enough sleep, we don't operate as efficiently. We're not as focused. We're more distracted. More stressed.
So, it takes us longer to do the things that need to get done.
Which causes us to lose more sleep.
Which causes us to become less focused and efficient.
Which means work takes more time to do.
Which means we have to take it out of more sleep time.
And the vicious cycle continues.
When you or your kids find yourself overwhelmed, do this. Put your foot down, and get a decent night's sleep.
Cancel an appointment, tell school or work you need time for self-care, whatever. Set that boundary for yourself.
Do what you can the next day, and then get another good night's sleep.
Do what you can the next day, and then get yet another good night's sleep.
You'll find that you move faster and become more efficient with each day. And you're happier, too.
Take the time to sleep, eat well, drink water, and move a little bit.
You'll be amazed the superpowers you gain in a world that's struggling just to get through the week.
